Spewing Hate
In his homily on Sunday, Cardinal O'Connor of New York condemned the
assassination of Buffalo abortionist Barnett Slepian. That didn't stop
Polly Rothstein, president of something called the Westchester Coalition
for Legal Abortion, from blaming him for the shooting anyway. Although
she allowed that O'Connor didn't technically fire the gun, Rothstein
said he "is accountable for these religious followers who do pull the
trigger." Also referring to James Dobson, Rothstein said, "Without these
leaders spewing hate, there would be no anti-abortion movements."
Anticipation
The entire school choice movement currently awaits a decision--probably
coming Monday--as to whether the Supreme Court will grant a review of
the Milwaukee school choice case. Although they won a victory last time,
education reformers would like the Justices to weigh in and lift the
constitutional cloud that hangs over school choice.
